Computer Striptease Scam

Computer Striptease Scam CAPTCHA

SAN JOSE, CALIFORNIA:
A picture of a sexy blonde is being used to steal your brain. Sort of. Her task is to trick internet users into giving scammers access to services that are protected by online barriers. She does this by promising to remove her clothes.

CAPTCHA (Completely Automated Public Turing test to tell Computers and Humans Apart) systems work by requesting users to enter those wavy lines of letters and numbers before they can gain access to certain sites.

In this way the site can verify that you have a human brain and aren’t a computer.

Here’s how the scam works: an icon of a beautiful woman appears on your computer. After clicking on the icon a photo of another attractive female appears. She promises to take off an item of clothing every time the jumble of letters and numbers next to her is entered. However, the woman never undresses fully and the scammers use the information entered to register false email addresses.

So if this icon appears on a computer near you – be warned! She’s after your brain, your valuable human brain. Don’t give it to her!
